European Champion Review

We were really pleased with a recent review by European Triathlon Champion Indie Lee.  It is so good to hear Runderwear is helping her achieve her training and racing goals.

If you haven't heard of them yet or tried their kit then you need to! - it's a game changer.

I was lucky to enough to bump into the lovely Jamie Smalley and Richard Edmonds (Co-Founders at Runderwear) at this years Virgin London Marathon when visiting my coach and his athletes on one of the stands. Knowing my sporting background the guys were interested to see how I would get on with their products. I have heard great things about the brand so I was keen to see what all the fuss was about.

When you speak to any athlete about what kit they have recently purchased or what shoes they are pounding the pavements in, you rarely consider what underwear you run in. For years I have been running in cotton underwear and thinking nothing of it as there hasn't been any other options out there to compare to. Since trying Runderwear I realised what a difference their products make to my training!

Runderwear have three different styles of knickers/briefs to choose from;
- I first ran in the 'Running Briefs' - £16 available in Black/Blue.
They were ridiculously comfortable, very soft and lovely to run in. What I like most about this particular brief is how they can be pulled up higher on your waist compared to normal running/everyday knickers. They give you the 'tucked in' feeling when running. I ran a long undulated 13 miler in these and was surprised how I had no problems at all. I didn't get any chafing, 'wedgies' or movement from the product.

-The 'Low Rise Hipster' - £16 Black/Pink/Blue.
Same materials and super soft feeling as the original running brief mentioned above, however this product sits lower on the hip. I chose to test these on a threshold run. When pushing the pace on a hot summers day i'm going to sweat! The briefs kept me sweat free with their moisture wicking materials and give a breathable affect when running allowing me to stay dryer for longer.
The cut around the bottom is visible so if you are in a tight pair of running shorts VPL will occur.
- The G-String was the product I was most hesitant about running in. I have always ran in briefs and wouldn't normally choose a G-String/thong to run in. However I tried it and had no problems! I didn't get the uncomfortable feeling I thought I would. With the product being seamless it felt like I wasn't even wearing any underwear. I had no issues with chafing or feeling like I needed to rearrange myself at any point. I will definitely be running in these again!

I also sampled Runderwear's crop tops [£25 black/blue] and loved them! The crop top sits perfectly, zero movement and gives all the comfortable qualities you get from the briefs. The elasticity in the crop top allows the product to stay in place and remain shape and size when taking it on and off. Wear a specialised sports bra underneath if you bigger than a A/B cup as without it, it doesn't offer a huge amount of support. My favourite thing about the crop top is it being seamless - no more under arm chafing when running long miles!

Overall a brilliant brand, great customer care, well thought through and reliable, that when washed remains the same size and shape giving a longer lasting product!
