Runderwear Supports the First-Ever ITRA Women’s Trail Running Day in Chamonix
On Sunday, 1st June, we joined trail runners from around the world in celebrating a major milestone for the sport we love – the first-ever ITRA Women’s Trail Running Day, a global initiative designed to inspire and empower more women to hit the trails.
Held in the breathtaking surroundings of Chamonix, France, the flagship event was co-hosted by Run the Alps and welcomed runners of all backgrounds for a relaxed 7–10km trail run along some of the most scenic alpine paths in Europe. Runderwear was proud to be there as an ITRA sponsor – supporting the initiative and sharing some of our performance essentials with the incredible women taking part.
Building Community, One Trail at a Time
This global celebration wasn’t about pace or performance – it was about participation. Women from all over the world laced up their trail shoes and hit local paths, mountains, parks, and forests to be part of a united movement that’s building a more inclusive and supportive community in trail running.
Despite women now representing 29% of ITRA’s global database – a positive 1% increase from the previous year – there’s still a long journey ahead to achieve true gender balance in the sport. That’s why this event, and the message behind it, matters so much.
“It doesn’t matter how far or how fast you go – what matters is being out there together, having fun, and feeling the freedom and connection with nature that trail running brings.”
— Janet Ng, ITRA President
Runderwear’s Commitment to Inclusivity
At Runderwear, we believe everyone should feel comfortable, confident, and supported – whether they’re running their first 5K or climbing alpine peaks. We were honoured to be part of the Chamonix celebration, gifting performance underwear and socks to participants who joined the run and shared in the spirit of community and empowerment.
Seeing runners from all walks of life come together to celebrate the freedom and joy of trail running reminded us why we do what we do – to help runners of every level feel their best, every step of the way.
Keep the Momentum Going
Whether you joined the event in Chamonix, ran a few laps of your local park, or are just discovering trail running for the first time – this is just the beginning. The trails are open to all, and we’re committed to helping make them more welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
We’re proud to support ITRA and its mission to grow female participation in trail running. Together, we can keep the momentum going – one run, one connection, and one empowering moment at a time.
